We are a democratic, independent association of Kos’ citizens, which is supported by volunteers coming from Kos and other countries. The need for our initiative was sparked by the arrival of refugees in boatloads in late spring of 2015. The people that were arriving from Bodrum (Turkey) in unseaworthy boats and dinghies and urgently needed food, water, tents, warm clothes and shoes, backpacks and help in establishing their legal status in order to travel safely by ferry to Piraeus. We direct our efforts towards offering help and support with basic needs like food, clothes while we work in cooperation with other agencies like UNHCR and MSF etc.
All people are participating on a voluntary basis and most of us also have day jobs. Our capacities are limited, so we need volunteers, which can support us. For further information follow this link.
Our status as an official association has recently been approved by local authorities. But donations we coul not receive at this moment.
